What is a Museum School

Resource

Students play with playdough in individual trays around table

Excitingly, we are now a Museum Magnet School, which means we're turning our classrooms into captivating spaces where curiosity knows no bounds. Just like how a museum holds treasures waiting to be discovered, our classrooms are filled with opportunities for your child to learn, play, and grow. We can't wait for them to embark on this incredible journey of imagination and discovery with us.

A museum is a place that houses and shares a purposeful collection of things and experiences. Our school is a museum of our student's learning.

Three times a year we open the doors of our museum on Exhibit Nights! These nights are showcases of the amazing things our students have learned.

Museum Partners

We have three amazing local museum partners who work with us to provide engaging, hands-on, educational experiences to all students. The museum exhibits, themes, and topics are integrated into our museum units, allowing students to take what they learn on museum expeditions and bring it back into the classroom for further exploration.

Additionally, TFS families may check out family museum passes to each of our partners so that they can visit the museums and extend the learning into home experiences.

Lyman Allyn Art Museum
