Family Outcome 1
Families will be involved in the growth and development of their
children.
Objectives
- The center will provide ongoing educational opportunities
for families to participate in the literacy and language acquisition
of their children.
- The center will provide ongoing educational opportunities
for families to participate in the physical development
of their children.
- The center will provide ongoing educational opportunities
for families to participate in the personal/social development
of their children.
- The center will provide ongoing educational opportunities
for families to participate in the creative expression
and aesthetic development of their children.
- The center will engage families in ongoing multicultural
activities to promote awareness, acceptance and appreciation
of diversity.
Family Outcome 2
The center will support families in identifying and advocating
for the needs of their children throughout the educational
experience.
Objectives
- The center will provide health education and outreach services
for families.
- The center will conduct workshops and develop an informational
center geared to the specific needs of families such as
legal, medical, special education and social services.
- The center will assist parents in developing parent support
networks, such as children play groups, cooperative childcare,
respite networks, and volunteer opportunities.
Family Outcome 3
The center will provide families with opportunities to be actively
involved in the education of their children at home and in
school.
Objectives
- Families will be expected to contribute skills and services
to the center.
- Families will identify at least one annual outcome for each
child and participate in developing and implementing the
plan for that outcome.
- Families will be invited to share traditions, cultural events
and family heritage.
- Training will be provided for families to extend literacy
learning into the home.
